La Grange Chamber Announces Tom Shaugnessy as New Executive Director
The Board of Directors of the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce completed its search for an Executive Director with the selection of Thomas (Tom) Shaugnessy as of Feb. 1.
Chair of the Board, Deokie Ramlochan-Ramjohn expressed gratitude to all who applied, saying, “there were several good candidates for the position but Tom got the nod from the Board’s Recruitment Committee.” She further stated, “Tom’s first appearance was at the Chamber’s 2023 Awards Banquet, where Judge Dan Mueller challenged us to ensure that our vision and mission matched contemporary needs, so we expect Tom to lead on those initiatives with direction from the Board.”
Tom comes to the Chamber with over 30 years of successful experience with business to business sales and marketing in the technology sector. Most recently Tom managed membership and social media accounts for local non-profit organizations. He also owns a part time weekend honey bee business. Tom lives in New Ulm, and is active in many community and church organizations.
Prior to joining the Chamber Tom served as Vice President of the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, serves on the committee of annual The New Ulm Honey Bee Jubilee and is active as a member in the Sealy and Bellville Chambers of Commerce in Austin County. Tom is past President and Vice President of The Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe. He is passionate about Texas’ great outdoors and is a Texas Certified Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide.
Tom and his wife Brenda enjoy spending time hiking and exploring the trails on their 11 acre “habitat.” Tom invites you to call or stop by the Chamber office and talk about how we can work together in making your business grow and succeed.
