Devon Boehnke’s grandson, Dana and Darrell Kulak’s son; Elton Kulak graduated this past week from the University of Texas with a Masters’ degree in business analytics. Dana and Darrell drove Devon up to Dallas for the graduation ceremony. The Kulaks were able to visit with Elton and his wife Miko along with Miko’s family while in the area. Elton received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas Austin and moved to the Fort Worth area to work full time and pursue his master’s degree. His parents and grandpa are very proud of all his accomplishments including a new job to begin with his new degree.
Nancie Blair traveled to California with her daughter, Teresa Holland for her granddaughter Zoe Holland’s graduation from the University of Southern California. Zoe received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. While in California the ladies enjoy some shopping and wonderful dining. They also got to enjoy a great afternoon and evening on the Santa Monica Pier.
Out and About
I got a chance to catch up with my friend Alayna Kidd as she passed through Austin on her way home to Steamboat Springs, Colorado from New Zealand. She and her brother had escorted her 90-year-old mother on an adventure down under. Alayna, her mom Sali and I were able to have lunch and do a little catching up before Alayna had to catch her flight.
Nancy and Martin Cherry were thrilled to have their daughter Anne Marie Cherry drive in from Georgia on the 12th for a visit. After a short visit, Anne Marie was off for a concert in San Francisco, California. She got a chance to catch up with her brother Martin Cherry Jr. and his wife Lora along with her favorite niece and nephew, Caroline and Mitchell Cherry. She was shocked to see how much the kids had grown and enjoyed trading “stupid” jokes with them. Anne Marie is planning on coming back in a couple weeks to stay for a longer visit.
Reed Rightmer visited for a few days to help his dad and catch up with his local friends. Reed is in between semesters and took the time to come to the country to recharge and breathe some fresh air.
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky’s daughters were finally able to make a trip to the farm with the grandkids. Summer came in from Austin with Olivia and Marcus. Jennifer and her husband Kenny came in from Katy with their boys Conner and Hunter. The kids all had a great time with an egg/scavenger hunt with lots of prizes. Most of their day was spent outside enjoying the farm animals and outdoor fun. Of course, there was the traditional bug and butterfly hunt (all captures were returned to the wild). Over all it was a belated Mother’s Day for Kathy and they got to enjoy a great homemade meal and lots of visiting with each other and catching up with each other.
School Out
School is rounding out another year. There will be a change in traffic patterns along with youngsters being about.
