KJZT St. Anne’s Society No. 10 Meets
The meeting of the KJZT St. Anne’s Society No. 10 was called to order at 1 p.m. on Nov. 21 at St .John’s Recreation Hall. Vice-President Helen Wied opened the meeting with prayers for all living members and their families and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were five members present.
Rose Rohde read the minutes from the previous meeting. Helen Wied reported on cards received and sent out and Lois Kaspar gave the Treasurer’s report.
In new business, it was moved and seconded to keep the same officers in place: Mary Jane Toddy, President; Helen Wied, Vice-President, Rose Rohde, Secretary, and Lois Kaspar, Treasurer. Veronica Ryza made a motion and Madeline Kovar seconded to donate $100 for supplies to Sacred Heart Catholic School, La Grange in January.
Madeline Kovar made a motion and Veronica Ryza seconded to donate $50 to Giddings State School. St. Anne’s Society selected Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange, St. Anthony Catholic School in Columbus, St. Rose Catholic School in Schulenburg and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hallettsville to receive $50 each from the KJZT Family Life State Office. Members were reminded of the 2024 District Meeting to be held in Nada.
Attendance prize winner was Lois Kaspar and the next meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024.
During the closing prayer for all deceased members, one recently passed member, Loretta Naumann was recognized. After the meeting was adjourned, lunch and social followed.
