Kasen Kocian Receives Rite of Confirmation

Kasen Kocian, son of Wayne Kocian and Natasha Kollman and grandson of Lucille Koehl and Kenny and Denise Weishuhn was confirmed on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Trinity Lutheran in Frelsburg, by Pastor Ivy Schulz.

Kasen served as acolyte on this day. Family and friends gathered afterwards for brunch served by the church. Cake, pasta salad, cinnamon rolls, fruit, cookies and other items were enjoyed by all.

Kasen was baptized by Pastor Glenn Holt in 2008 and received first communion by Pastor Marcia Kifer in 2014.

Shared Lutheran Ministry Join St. John in Ellinger for Breakfast Church on Nov. 26. Worship will be at 8 a.m.

Ellinger will host one of the Advent services this season on Nov. 29. Service will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Support St. Paul in Fayetteville, Saturday, Nov. 11 for their annual turkey or beef stew fundraiser. Dine in or to go starting at 10:30 a.m. at the old fire station in Fayetteville. $10 a quart or $36 a gallon for turkey stew and $40 a gallon for beef stew.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at Noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services.

Hermann Sons

New this year will be an extended week for the youth camp in the summer. There will be a 10 night/11 day camp program from June 23-July 3, 2024. This co-ed program will be held at the Hilltop Camp with a limited enrollment of 90 females and 64 male campers. More information will be released closer to the summer months.

Bingo is held every Thursday night at the Brenham Hermann Sons Lodge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and cards go on sale at 6:15 p.m. Games start at 7 p.m. and this is open to the public.

Ellinger Sewer and Water Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corp. will meet on Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the fire station.

Chamber of Commerce The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the chamber dining hall at 7 p.m. All chamber and community members are invited to attend.
