    Judge Signs Flag Day Proclamation

Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller signed a Flag Day proclamation recognizing KJZT Society The Assumption No. 65 of Holman. National Flag Day honors the Stars and Stripes every year on June 14. The holiday was the brainchild of Bernard J. Cigrand, a 19-year-old schoolteacher in Fredonia, Wis. Cigrand celebrated the first Flag Day in 1885 by placing a small flag in a bottle on his disk. Now the tradition is honored all across the nation each year on June 14, thanks to groups like KJZT Family Life that support the patriotic holiday. Pictured above at the proclamation signing last week were (back, from left) KJZT Society 65 Secretary Ann Dobecka, Society Vice President Lori Leer, Society Treasurer Linda Besetsny, Society member Rachel Guentert holding one of the KJZT’s youngest members Danielle Naiser, (seated) KJZT State Director Joy Kovar, Society President Janie Naiser, Judge Mueller, and Society members Paisley Guentert, Harper Guentert and Dawsyn Guentert.
