Journey to Find Fall
My daughter and son-inlaw, Jodi and Scott Miller, invited me to travel with them to Minnesota as a birthday gift and to look at the turning of the leaves. We flew out of Austin on Sept. 28 arriving in Minneapolis/ St. Paul in the late afternoon and after renting a car we drove to the town of Albert Lea in the middle of the southern part of the state. It was beautiful with flowers everywhere and we spent several days visiting. We also spent some time at other towns along Interstate 90.
On Oct. 1, we traveled to Mille Lac Lake in the North Central part of the state to stay at Eddy’s Resort. Oct. 2. we went to Duluth, the Black Sand Beach in Silver Bay on Lake Superior and to the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. Oct. 3, we visited Brainerd, a small town with an amazing community of artist and an old Northern Pacific rail yard that is being renovated into a destination, including shops, restaurants, and an event center. On Oct. 4, we headed back to Minneapolis/St. Paul and we flew home on Oct. 5. We hoped to bring some cooler weather back with us.
