Jersey Barnyard Hosts Flower Seminar

The Jersey Barnyard hosted the first session of a threepart Flower Garden Seminar on Saturday, March 25.

Shannon Ezer, who heads up The Jersey Barnyard’s cut flower garden, gave a lesson on seed starting and soil preparation. Her lesson was specifically tailored to organically growing cut flowers. However, her methods are applicable to vegetable and landscape gardeners as well. Attendees also got to tour the Jersey Barnyard’s cut flower garden. The next seminar will take place on Earth Day – Saturday, April 22. Ezer will discuss tending and maintaining the garden. The final seminar will take place on Saturday, May 27. Ezer will lead a class about harvesting and arranging cut flowers. Both classes start at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in attending the next two classes can register by calling the Jersey Barnyard at (979) 249-3406.
