“I Do!” Round Top Wedding Reception this Weekend

This weekend is full of events in Round Top. McLaren’s Open House will be open all weekend for a pop-up, and “I Do Round Top” takes place all day Saturday. Tour venues in the morning, enjoy a happy hour at Duo, and cap-off the night with a “Reception” at Henkel Square (tickets are required for the reception). VFD Fundraiser

The raffle drawing for the annual Round Top – Warrenton VFD fundraiser will be this coming Thursday, June 13. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, they are available at Round Top State Bank, Round Top Real Estate, Round Top Service Station, Round Top Farm & Ranch, Round Top Mercantile, Fayetteville Propane, Carmine State Bank, La Grange Electric Motor Service, or you can also purchase one from any Fire Department member.

RT Chamber Monthly Social 

The Round Top Chamber of Commerce holds it’s Monthly Social the second Thursday of every month from 5-7 p.m. at varying locations. The next social will be Thursday, June 13.

Town Hall Meeting 

There will be a town hall meeting for Round Top’s newly elected mayor on Saturday, June 15 from 4-5 p.m. Come out to learn more about the vision and priorities for the town and community, as well as a discussion on opportunities and challenges to come. This will be held at the Round Top Rifle Hall.

Festival Hill 

Music lovers, unite. Saturday, June 8 is the big opener for the Chamber Music Concert. Beginning at 3:30 p.m., guests will enjoy “Serenade for Flute and String Quintet, Op. 65”, followed by “String Quartet No. 2 in a Minor.”

Later on in the evening, the Texas Festival Orchestra Season Opening Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. This performance will include “Concerto for Orchestra,” “Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11,” and “Suite from The Firebird (1919),” led by conductor, Robert Spano.

The weekly lineup of “Master Class” musicians, held in the Edythe Bates Old Chapel daily at 1:30 p.m., is as follows: Tuesday - Regis Pasquier, violin; Wednesday – Kenneth Freudigman, cello; Thursday – Jams VanDemark, double bass; Friday – John Kitzman, trombone.

Round Top Family Library 

The Kids S.E.E. programs kick-off this week. If you weren’t able to register for a weekly spot, don’t worry – there are several additional programs scheduled for the summer that are open to everyone. Thursday, June 20, beginning at 3 p.m., enjoy “Epic Entertainment” featuring the amazing magic of Gus Davis. Your family will enjoy this high-energy, hilarious show featuring a variety of magical illusions that will “Wow” all ages, family-friendly comedy, and fun crowd participation! Join us for a magical and memorable experience for the whole family. Free and open to the public.

Round Top Rifle Hall 

On the first, second, and third Monday of the month the Round Top Rifle Hall hosts Monday Night Social from 5:30-8 p.m. The signature menu includes a delicious, hearty hamburger, fixed just the way you like it, “The Rooster” - a breaded chicken sandwich with a tangy “special sauce,” hotdogs or chili dogs, along with fries or onion rings. Paint Party 

Thursday, June 20 come to the Round Top Dance Hall for a paint party with Tropical Expressions. For $45 you will get a 16x20 blank canvas and learn to paint a Highlander cow. The painting starts at 7 p.m. but come early for food and drinks at The Stone Cellar. Tickets can be purchased at thestonecellartx.com. 

Church News

Bethlehem Lutheran Church will once again team up with MLLC Carmine for Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme is “SCUBA – Diving into Friendship with God.” VBS takes place June 9-13 from 5:45-7:45 p.m. The closing program will be Sunday, June 16 during the worship service at MLLC.
