    Holy Cross Lutheran Church Announces Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will be held June 20-22 from 5:30- 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. This year the theme is “Superheroes of the Bible: Transformed by Faith.” Registration is online and will be open from May 9-27. Visit www.holycrosswarda.com to register. Volunteers are needed, if you would like to help with lessons, crafts, games, setup/cleanup, etc. Contact the church office at (979) 242-3333. A volunteer meeting will be held on Sunday, May 23 at 11:15 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. This is for anyone who wants to help with any part of VBS.

The Spring Thing

Faith Lutheran High School is proud to present “The Spring Thing.” This will be a showcase of the students’ work in the fine art department. Everyone is welcome to attend this event held on Wednesday, May 11 at 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Scholarship Fundraiser

Serbin 4-H will be having their annual Fried Chicken Scholarship Fundraiser on Sunday, May 15 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Serbin Church Picnic Grounds. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased from any 4-H member or by calling Rebecca at (979) 540-6105 or Janis at (979) 540-0830.

5K/Kid’s Color Run

St. Paul Serbin will be having a 5K/Kid’s Color Run on Saturday, May 28. This annual event is sponsored by the PTLS and profits support the educational programs of St. Paul Lu theran. Walk or run, sign up for fun or competition. Prizes will be awarded by gender in seven different age groups. To register contact Karla Hinze at kjsurman@hotmail.com.

Texas Wendish Scholarship

The Texas Wendish Heritage Society (TWHS) appreciates the support given to the scholarship program. All Texas Wendish Heritage Scholarship funds are received through fundraising projects and donations. The TWHS scholarship program, is available to students of Wendish descent and encourages students to learn more about their Wendish heritage. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school for Fall 2022 semester. The 2022-2023 scholarship applications will be available beginning April 19 online at www. texaswendish.org and on the Texas Wendish Facebook Page. The entire process is online and must be submitted digitally by the deadline of 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. Holy Cross Happenings

Bible Study at Holy Cross Lutheran Church is held each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the church library. This course is based on the book “How Happiness Happens” by Max Lucado. Everyone is welcome to join, contact Cyndy Zoch at cyndy. zoch@gmail.com if you have any questions.

The sewing and quilting group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church meets each Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon, in the old parish hall of the church. Everyone is welcome to join them for a morning of sewing, cutting, laughter, fellowship and of course yummy goodies. You do not need to be a member of Holy Cross to join this fun group. The ladies still collect all cancelled postage stamps, these are trimmed from their envelopes and sold to collectors. These can be dropped off at the church office, or in the designated box in the hallway.

Holy Cross Services

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday School follows the morning service.

Faith Lutheran High School

Faith Lutheran High School has announced that Summer Camps are back! There are a variety of camps for youth. The ages listed are for grades NEXT school year.

June 1-Frog Dissection-Grade 6 to 8. Cost $15.

June 6-8-Volleyball-Grades 3 to 8. Cost $15.

June 13-15-Basketball-Grades K to 8. Cost $15.

June 20-22-STEM Camp-Grades K to 6. Cost $30.

June 27-29-Art Camp-Grades K to 6. Cost $30.

August 1-2-Archery-Grades 4 to 8. Cost $15.

Faith Lutheran High School will be having their Prom on Saturday, April 30.

Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m.
