Holy Cross Ladies Offering Christmas Items

The Ladies at Holy Cross in Warda have boxed Christmas cards for sale in the hallway of the Narthex, there are also selections of Birthday, Get Well, Sympathy and Anniversary cards. These are all Christian cards and many have Bible passages in them. Stop by to see the selection and purchase some.

If you are looking for some Christmas gifts, the Ladies at Holy Cross have their cookbooks available for purchase for $15 each, they also have RADA Cutlery available for purchase, this cutlery is made in the USA and makes great Christmas gifts, contact the church office to purchase at (979) 242-3333.

FLHS Christmas Concert Faith Lutheran High School students will present a Christmas concert, “Faith at Christmas” on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. at FLHS. The program will include a collection of choir pieces, handbells, hymns, scripture readings and more. Refreshments will be served following the program and everyone is invited to join this festive event. It will also be streamed live on Facebook, for those who would prefer to view from home.

Knox Memorial Scholarship The Amanda Knox Memorial Scholarship Fund will hold a BBQ pulled Pork Taco meal on Monday, Jan. 20. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased by contacting Cyndy Zoch at (979) 9663166. Only 250 tickets are available. All proceeds will be used to award a scholarship to an 8th grade student attending Faith Lutheran High School.

Thanksgiving Day Service St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin will have a Thanksgiving Day worship service at 9 a.m. This service will be conducted in both German and English.

Wednesday Night Bible Study The Wednesday Night Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda will take a break for the Holidays and will begin the study of 2nd Kings on Jan. 8. New members are always welcome. Game Day at Holy Cross The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, Dec. 19 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served, there is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered. Rumor has it that the old Wendish/German tradition of a visit by Rumplich is alive and well and he will pay a visit on Dec. 19. There will also be opportunities for photos with Rumplich.

Recycle for Trail of Life If you have aluminum cans to recycle, there is a large basket at the Holy Cross picnic grounds. The money from the cans goes to the local Trail Life Group. They greatly appreciate your support.

Holy Cross Services 

Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.

Advent Services will be held Dec. 4, 11 and 18. At 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The midweek morning Bible Study at Holy Cross in Warda is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

The church office will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1 for the Holidays.

Holy Cross is looking for instrumentalists to join them in playing for the children’s Christmas Eve program, or for any Sunday morning service. If you play a special instrument and would be interested in playing for a service, please contact the church office at (979) 242-3333.

The Youth Group will meet on Dec. 15 at 11:15 a.m. for a Christmas cookie swap and Christmas games.
