Hollywood Producer Has Local Connections

In a column last week Margo Johnson referenced the hit Netflix series “Live to 100: Secrets of Blue Zones” which is a four-part series that investigates the diet and lifestyles of areas around the globe where people live the longest lives.

After the column appeared in the newspaper we got a call from Glenn Kubena, who was born and raised in Fayetteville, to let us know that his son, Kent Kubena, is the Executive Producer of Blue Zones.

Kent’s mom, and Glenn’s wife, is Mary Pratka Kubena, who was born and raised in La Grange. Glenn and Mary now live in Houston.

Kent, meanwhile, lives in L.A. and this new documentary (which was the most watched series on Netflix last week) is hardly his first big hit.

Kent, who was born in Pasadena, was a producer for such hit movies as Hotel Mumbai, Gods of Egypt and Turistas.
