Holiday Craft Party in Muldoon Nov. 12

It is coming once again, Christmas time. All area ladies are invited to the First Annual Ladies Holiday Craft Party on Saturday, Nov. 12. The fun and holiday festivities will be from 4-7 p.m. at the Muldoon Fellowship Center (formally the Muldoon Methodist Church building.)

Plans are for the ladies to create three beautiful crafts with the in person instruction and all supplies being provided. Making it a fun and easy way to spend an evening before the hustle and bustle starts for the Christmas season. Cost will be $40 and must be paid in advance to reserve a spot, as the number of participants will be limited. There is a reservation deadline of Saturday, Nov. 5. Here is a chance to have an evening of fun and creativity with other area ladies. Maybe meet some other ladies of the area while having some creative fun. When you go home at the end of the evening you will be able to take home your finished product to gift or maybe even keep for yourself. Contact Karen Jacobs at (281) 682-5625 either by call or text for more information or to sign up and save your spot.

Rain

Monday in Muldoon saw much welcomed rain falling. Anywhere from an half inch to an inch and a half was reported all around the area. It fell in the form of a slow soaking rain. All the ranchers were happy to have the moisture along with the cooler temperatures. Morning temps have dipped into the forties making the days start off on the brisk side.

Muldoon has been so dry for so long that most ranchers have had to start winter feeding earlier than normal. There have been numerous loads of hay being delivered in the area. Ranchers have also been culling their herds to try to survive the drought conditions.

If you are driving in the area please take caution around those who are hauling feed hoppers, hay bales or driving tractors. Double check where they are going before you whip around them and speed by. You might be cutting them off as they are turning left. There have been a few rude drivers who are in a hurry and do not understand that heavy equipment or a truck with a trailer cannot stop on a dime. This is a way of life that has sustained Muldoon for generations. Please slow down.

Pin Oak Clean Up

The Pin Oak Cemetery recently held their biannual clean up and business meeting. There were 13 volunteers this fall including two Ukrainian refugees. They have been displaced from their home in the Ukraine and still wanted to help clean up the little historical cemetery. Everyone enjoyed visiting and the older workers really appreciated the next generation stepping in and helping with the maintenance. The Pin Oak Cemetery is looking at moving, a small equipment shed thirty feet inside the cemetery, so they can build a pavilion for meetings. The next clean up day and meeting will be in April.
