Decorating Contest Winners
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners in the Christmas Decorating Contest
In the Business Division, Buck Up Auctions and Realty won first place. Second place was Darlene’s Custom Sewing and third place went to Carmine Museum and Visitor Center
In the Residence Division, first place went to Dennis and Charlotte Allen. Gene and Boo Goolsby won second place, and Gerald and Sidnie Byrket were third place winners.
Thanks to all the wonderful displays throughout the city limits of Carmine, which makes it very enjoyable to drive in our small community during the Christmas season. The efforts of these displays are appreciated by many
Condolences
Sympathy is extended to the family of Pauline Fischer, who passed away on Dec. 16. She worked at the Giddings Hospital, Brenham State School, and Sweetbriar Nursing Home. She enjoyed baking and canning. Her funeral service was at Martin Luther Lutheran Church with burial at the Carmine Cemetery on Dec. 22.

Varsity Girls and Boys basketball teams play at North Zulch on Jan. 3 at 5 p.m. They host Dime Box Jan. 6 at 5 p.m
Jr. High girls and boys host Fayetteville Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. They play at Dime Box Jan. 9 at 5 p.m.
FFA Meeting is Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. All meetings are open to Junior FFA and FFA members, as well as parents.

Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m
