Herb Society of America Pioneer Unit to Hold Talk on Thyme

Ginger Discussion Recently Held

The December meeting of the Pioneer Unit of the Herb Society of America was held at Festival Hill in Round Top.

Henry Flowers delivered an informative presentation about “The Many Joys of Ginger” with information about growing and using gingers. Henry holds a Masters Degree in horticulture and works at Glasco Landscaping. His home garden includes gingers, and the Unit was impressed with his photographs and demonstrations. After the meeting, the Unit had a luncheon at the Festival Hill Dining Room.

On January 12, 2023, the Pioneer Unit Horticulture Study Group, led by Madeline Johnson, will present the results of their year-long study of thyme. Entitled “A Thymely Talk,” the program will feature information about the growth of eight varieties of thyme during 2022, a challenging year for many plants. The meeting will be held at Brenham Presbyterian Church, 900 South Jackson Street, Brenham, starting at 9:30, with the presentation beginning at 10 a.m. We invite all interested persons to attend.
