This is the next in a series on new teachers at local schools.

Angela Griffin is going to be a new Reading Intervention teacher for 7th and 8th grade at La Grange Middle School.

Angela has taught for 24 years, and plans on continuing for the next several years. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1997, she began substitute teaching at North Belt elementary Humble ISD, where she was later offered a teaching job.

“While subbing I fell in love with teaching, so when I was offered a teaching position I never looked back,” she said.

According to Angela, her greatest inspiration was her high school English teacher, Vicky Giles.

“Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her impact on my life,” she said. “An effective teacher has a great influence and lasts a lifetime. I hope to bring that same impact to every student that comes into my room.”
