Greater Vision Students Compete in Western Art Competition; Kooper Wins Special Merit Award
Students from the local homeschool co-op, Greater Vision Team School, recently participated in the Private School division of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo art contest. This is the second year our school was invited to participate. GVTS sent artwork from 10 elementary, three junior high, and one high school students to compete against entries from 58 other private schools in Houston. Above is a group photo of the elementary and junior high students with their artwork. Kneeling (L-R): Caden Janda, Rachel Herbrich, Sarah Ruth Herbrich, Amelia Biernacki, Zion Pereiro; Back row: Jaycee Zapalac, James Wall, Kash Alberthal, Sarita Kinsey, Charlie Samples, Skarlet Schielack, Luke Zbranek, Not pictured: Danika Kimball. Phoenix received a Special Merit award for his oil painting titled “Paradise.” His artwork will remain in Houston on display in the Hayloft Gallery during the HLSR. GVTS has continued to grow over the years. Their students/families live primarily in Fayette County, but we also have families from Lee, Washington, and Colorado counties.
