Lions Scholarships

For about 22 years, Lions Club Scholarship Committee Chair Kathy Callaway and her small, dedicated committees have chosen 10 well-deserved FISD seniors to receive scholarship funds generously donated by the Fayetteville Lions Club. All funds collected by the Lions Club go toward these scholarships.

Applicants complete an extensive application. Callaway and her committee members review them and set up personal interviews with each former student to discuss their responses and their visions for the future. After funds are awarded, the recipients are directed to satisfy specific responsibilities to receive them.

This year, FISD school counselor Priscilla Malota facilitated the entire process. Committee members included Tara Miller, Steven Cain, Martha Dennis and Jerry Gips. All 10 extraordinary applicants received scholarships: Colley Schultze, Brooklyn Jaeger, Daniel Hopkins, Makenzie Poncik, Travis Gully, Skyy Hopkins, Karina Vera, Ty Knight, Julie Goerig, Jennifer Statham.
