Giddings Library Book Festival Sept. 27-28

Since 2006, the Giddings Public Library has hosted the Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival. This year’s Sept. 2728 festival features 22 published authors who will be available to meet personally with festival attendees.

“Our festival focuses exclusively on Texas authors,” said Library Director Jessi Akins. “We want to support Texas literature and encourage future writers.”

Many authors apply to be featured at the annual event, and their books go through a rigorous review process prior to being selected for the festival. This year, 73 authors applied, which is more than any previous year.

Festival hours are Friday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. -5 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. Festival admission and parking are both free.
