Fried Chicken Fundraiser Sunday in Carmine
The Carmine Hall (Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein) is sponsoring a fried chicken meal fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tickets are $15 and it is carry- out only. Desserts will be available for a donation which will support the scholarship fund. Call (214) 732-1014 to see if tickets are still available.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine JV and varsity volleyball teams play at Mumford on Sept. 10 with the first game at 4:30 p.m. They host Flatonia on Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m., which will be parent and faculty night. Jr. High team plays at Fayetteville on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m.
A Scholastic Book Fair will be held at the elementary school in Round Top Sept. 9 13.
Grandparents will be celebrated Sept. 10-12 and are invited to eat lunch with their grandchildren at the RT-C Elementary School. RSVP by calling the school at (979) 966-6116 by Sept. 6. Lunch time for Pre-K to third grade is 11-11:30 a.m. For fourth to fifth grades, lunch time is 11:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m. A visitor lunch costs $5 and should be paid with cash or check at the office upon arrival.
RT-C Jr. High and high school varsity girls and boys’ athletes will compete in the Cross-Country meet in Shiner on Sept. 14.
Car & Truck Show
The Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation is sponsoring their first Classics for Kids Car & Truck Show on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Carmine Hall, 300 N. Hauptstrasse, Carmine TX 78932. Car and truck registration will be between 8-10 a.m. Trophies will be given at 1 p.m.

Cost for registration is $25 by Sept. 6 and $30 after Sept. 6.
Cars and trucks from the years 1999 and older are welcome.

online. There will be goodie bags, food and drinks for purchase and oldies music. It will be held rain or shine. Spectator entry is free. T-shirts will also be available at the show.
All proceeds benefit Round Top-Carmine ISD.
Water Restrictions
The City of Carmine continues with the mandatory water restrictions that are in effect until further notice. One of the water wells went down on Aug. 19 forcing the city to set strict water conservation measures while the repairs are being addressed. The well is expected to be operational as soon as possible.
Residents are only to water between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Odd numbered addresses may only water on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Even numbered addresses may water on Thursdays and Sundays.
Washing of vehicles is prohibited. Other ways to help are: turn off the faucet while brushing teeth; run washing machines only when full; and take shorter showers.
Ledbetter Firemen’s Feast The Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Firemen’s Feast will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Ledbetter Firemen’s Park.
Bingo starts at 4 p.m. and lasts until 6 p.m.
Fried chicken dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $15 per plate. Desserts will be sold by the Ledbetter Homemakers Club.
A live auction begins at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the gun raffle are for restoration of the Ledbetter Firemen’s Hall.
The Round Top Hermann & Sons Lodge will sponsor a Country Store.
Food Bank Truck
Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10-11 a.m. It is located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145.
Distribution will be drivethrough method. Volunteers will distribute and load the pre-boxed food into each vehicle as the client drives through the line.
They asked that clients need to clean out the back seats, trunks, and truck beds to make room for the boxed food.

Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Come to the recycling trailer in Carmine on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall.
