Free Concert at Ross Gallery

  • George Ensle
    George Ensle

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) presents a great evening of live music with George Ensle at the Ross Gallery on Fayetteville’s town square. This free concert will be held Saturday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m.

George Ensle will perform his one-man song play Small Town Sundown, presenting a movie in a song. The story follows a young prodigal from a small Texas town who returns home ten years later to bury the grandfather who raised him. In doing so, he discovers a renewed love for his hometown, its colorful characters, and a way of life he now realizes is what he truly wants and needs.

During the 1960s Houston Folk Music scene, Ensle was sharing stories, songs, and stages with Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Billy Joe Shaver. After more than five decades, he still main-tains the essence of the folk tradition, the story song. His performances are filled with wit, wisdom, grit, and always hope, accompanying his edgy vocals with intricate fingerstyle guitar, resonator, and keyboard.

While this concert is free to attend, seating is limited, and ticket reservations are required. Visit www.artsforruraltexas. org/sundown to reserve tickets.
