Food Pantry Serves Over 200 Families In September

A total of 245 families were served by the AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange for the month of September for a total of 677 individuals. A total of 140 volunteers for 290 hours served the pantry. A total of 1,836 pounds of food was received as donations.

Donations are accepted on Monday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon or Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until noon. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 571, La Grange, Texas 78945, or dropped off at the Pantry.

AMEN is open every Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon with staff on location to receive donations. Drive to the side of the building to the garage door area. There will not be any food distribution on Thursday. If possible, bring your produce during this time and early Monday mornings, an ideal time is 8:30 a.m.

The mobile pantry at Waldeck served 86 households for a total of 171 individuals. A total of 20 volunteers with 7,595 pounds distributed. Any food not distributed is sent to AMEN. The pantry received a large amount of frozen food, bread products and pastries to distribute to pantry clients.

The holiday season is approaching in November and then Christmas. The need for food increases during this period.
