Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Meets, Celebrates

On Sept. 19, the Flatonia-Cistern Chapter of the Fayette County Farm Bureau held its quarterly meeting. Jo Brunner, Vice-President of the Flatonia-Cistern Local, introduced the guest speakers from the La Grange Family Health Center. Speakers were Wes Blackwell, MD, Dawn Blackwell, Chief Financial Officer, and Jimmi Raj, MD. Dawn gave a brief family history of the speakers and introduced the newest doctor who joined the practice in July, Jimmi Raj, MD. La Grange Family Health Center is a full scope family medicine practice with clinics in La Grange, Giddings, and Flatonia. The speakers answered questions from the members. In appreciation for their time and attendance, Jo Brunner presented the speakers with a gift certificate. Jo Brunner, conducted the business meeting which included the election of the new President for the local, Daniel Vyvjala. Veterans attending the meeting were recognized and thanked for their service. They were recognized with a cake enjoyed by all members.
