Flatonia Baptist Church held a celebration on the church grounds to commemorate 150 years.

Starting off the celebration was a historical presentation of the church presented by Pastor Tim Rowell. District Judge and Deacon Jeff Steinhauser gave a presentation about an unknown event that occurred in the 1800s involving a prominent business man who was also a member of the church.

Along with the historical presentations members and guests called out favorite hymns to sing. The hymnals used were part of a set that was purchased in 1965.

The first building was built in 1874. Flatonia Baptist built a second building in 1965 and then built the one in use now in 2017.

Following the presentation, members and guests enjoyed a quick meal and block party prior to a Christian country concert by Roy West.

Pastor Tim Rowell spoke about what an honor and blessing it is to be the ones to celebrate the milestone of 150 years. He reminded the congregation that it is because of the generations before us, we are where we are today and that we have built off of their shoulders.
