The first farmers market brought out some great vendors last Saturday, selling crafts, produce and homebaked goods. Look for more to join in next month. For more information, text Sydni Alberthal at (979) 250-3353.

City Council 

The next City Council meeting is this Monday at 7 p.m. in the City offices. City Council meetings are held every third Monday of the month.

April 20, Structure fire on Prihoda Rd. at Kovar Rd.

Chief Randy Noviske reminds citizens to have driveways clear for access and to post your 911 address so first responders can locate your residence.

Railroad News 

Beginning on April 23, the Union Pacific Railroad ran crews up and down the tracks for two days to maintain the track infrastructure. Robin Tysver, Media Relations Manager at Union Pacific explained the extensive noise over the 48-hour period. “We replaced three miles worth of ties east of Fayetteville and in Fayetteville. We had about 50 employees working on it. Next time, we will make sure that we inform the city prior to work being done.”

FISD 

Just a reminder that FISD kiddos are out for the summer. Students in third, fourth and fifth grades enjoyed the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library on a field trip.

Shrimp Boil 

Get your tickets today for the 24th Annual Fayetteville/ Ellinger KC Shrimp Boil this Friday, May 17 under the pavilion at St. John’s. Free beer during Happy Hour, which runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Food served at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy shrimp and all the fixins, ice cold beer, live music, a card gun raffle and a silent auction. Look for flyers all around town.

Church News 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

Volunteers Needed
