Firemen’s Fundraiser Coming Up July 16

The Firemen’s annual fundraiser will be held on July 16 at the Carmine Hall. Fried chicken plates will be served as drive-thru only and donations will be taken as payment for the meal. Pickup will be from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until sold out. Desserts will be available. Tickets are being sold for a drawing and are available from any Carmine VFD member.

Round Top-Carmine FFA Officers attended the District Leadership camp on June 27 in Hallettsville. They enjoyed many fun activities and leadership opportunities.
Kannyn Goehring recently received the Dekalb Award. This award goes to an outstanding senior for agricultural leadership.
The RT-C administrative offices are open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. until Aug. 3.
Wild Wild West Casino Night Mark your calendars for the “Wild Wild West Casino Night” on Saturday, Aug. 12, sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce. Dinner tables for 8 are available for $500. There are no separate tickets this year. Contact (979) 451-1507 for choice of donation such as sponsoring a gaming table, donating items and gift certificates for gaming prizes, other costs, and to reserve a table. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

2023 THE DRIVER’S SEAT The City of Carmine is now offering Online Bill Pay. This new customer portal allows customers to easily manage their utility account, monitor usage, view bill, receive text/email alerts, and enroll in auto pay.
Please email carmine@cityofcarmine.com with updated cell phone, and email address to be included in the new alert system.

Customers wishing to have the convenience of paying and viewing billing information online, will need to create an account. Please be sure to have your account number.
You may also pay your bill 24/7 by calling (888) 579-3829 (toll free number to pay over the phone.) Have your account number handy and follow the prompts.

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave., Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9 – 11:30 a.m. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and is for pick-up only until 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.
To sign up, come by on any Wednesday morning to fill out the paperwork. For more information, contact Marilyn Wagner at (979) 277-4134.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Accepted are clean #1 and #2 plastic (please separate them, and note that #5 plastics are not accepted), dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
