Field to Fork Series Begins in January
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are excited to proudly present an educational series entitled “Field to Fork” that has been developed and designed to enhance your experience from the outdoors to the table. This multi-county hunting and fishing endeavor is being hosted by Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties. This four-part series will focus on harvesting, field dressing, processing, and safe food handling while preparing your wild game for the table.
In 2023, the workshops will focus on: Waterfowl - Jan. 13, Washington County Expo Event Center, Brenham Wild Hogs -April 21, Fayette County Ag Building, La Grange Fish - July 14, Colorado County Weimar Civic Center, Weimar White-tailed Deer - October 20, Austin County Methodist Activity Center, Bellville The Master of Ceremony for each session will be one of our country’s most recognized wildlife biologists, author, and respected outdoor personality, Mr. Larry Weishuhn. Sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude at noon. Registration is $40 per session or $120 for the series.
Each session will include processing demonstrations, Chef prepared food demonstrations, delicious tastings, and much, much more. To sweeten the opportunity, each paid registrant will automatically have their name entered into a drawing for fantastic door prizes at each paid session.
