Saturday, May 18 from 3-6 p.m. enjoy “A Sousa Spectacular!” presented by the Austin Symphonic Band, the Sugar Land Winds and the Mansfield Wind Symphony. The guest conductor and lecturer will be Loras John Schissel, Senior Musicologist at the Library of Congress and music director of both the Virginia Grand Military Band and the Cleveland Orchestra’s Blossom Festival Band. You are cordially invited to “I Do, Round Top” to celebrate all things tying the knot in the Round Top Area. Saturday, June 8, start the day visiting local wedding venues. A “Vendor Shower” will be set up at Market Hill, showcasing the amazing caterers, florists, photographers, and anything else needed to make your special day perfect. The day will be topped off with a “Wedding Reception for No One” in Henkel Suare. There will be food from Royers, music by The Satellites, wine and beer provided by Ellis Motel, dessert will be served at Humble Donkey, and then head to Spana for photos. The next Winedale Online Talk: “All Trails Led to Houston” will be Tuesday, May 14. Photographer, and author Ray Viator, will talk about the riders, horses, wagons, and western traditions celebrated each day of the trail rides that lead to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. FYI … presents David Smith on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. (back by popular demand.) After eight years as an Airborne Ranger in the US Army, David spent a career as an FBI Special Agent investigating various violations of federal law, including domestic terrorism. His last major case was the FBI’s Top-10 fugitive Eric Robert Rudolph for a bombing and murder in Burmingham, Alabama in January of 1998. Rudolph was finally caught after five years of hiding in the North Carolina mountains. David will speak of the twists and turns of the investigation, apprehension and successful prosecution of Rudolph, who also bombed the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Rudloph is currently serving a life without parole sentence in a Federal Penitentiary in Colorado. Question and Answer session to follow. This event is free and open to the public.
Round Top Rifle Hall
The Round Top Rifle Hall’s Monday Night Hamburger Socials take place the first, second, and third Mondays of each month, the Hall is open from 5:30-8 p.m. for hamburgers, “The Rooster,” hotdogs, or chilidogs, along with fries or onion rings. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Association.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church Bible Study was held onThursday, May 2 on “World Day of Prayer,” led by Pastor John David Nedbalek. Julie Wantland served as hostess. Pastor started with a fun song and discussion that scripture is like food. “When we share more, take and waste less, we become part of the way God provides daily bread for all. We are grateful to God and all who help bring food to our tables.” The next Bible study will be June 5 – everyone is welcome to join the study and fellowship. Sympathy wishes were extended to the family and friends of May Reeves and Junice Walther.
