Feed the Need Collecting Gobble Kits to Distribute at Thanksgiving
Fall is in the air, and for Feed the Need Missions that means Gobble Kits. Every year Feed the Need organizes and distributes Thanksgiving meals right here in La Grange, in addition to continuing to serve the physical and spiritual needs of our community every Monday night on the square with our hamburger/ hot dog meal. Gobble kits include everything needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for a local family and are distributed the week of Thanksgiving.
We sign up families to receive a gobble kit during our regular Feed the Need site on the square in La Grange on Mondays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. It provides us the opportunity to foster relationships and share the message of love and faith while supporting physical needs as well. We are expecting to serve around 200 Thanksgiving meals this year in La Grange, and close to 900 throughout the entire Feed the Need network of weekly sites.
To make Gobble kits a success again this year we need everyone’s help. Here are a few of the ways you can participate: Pack a kit: Pick up a gobble kit bag, fill the bag according to the shopping list and return it. Gobble kit bags can be picked up and dropped back off at these Gobble Kit partners: Fayette County Veterinary Clinic, The UPS Store, National Bank and Trust, La Grange Vintage Collectibles and Antiques, La Grange Cotton Gin, Texas AgriLife Extension Office, Crosspoint Community Church, New Life Methodist Church, Colorado River Cowboy Church, and at our Feed the Need Site every Monday on the square Donate $40 per gobble kit to cover the costs and let our volunteers pack the kit for you. Visit feedtheneed.org/ gobblekits.
Volunteer with us to distribute the gobble kits to all the families signed up. Distribution Day in La Grange will be Monday Nov. 20, starting at 5:30 pm at the Fayette County Courthouse Feed the Need Missions’ Gobble Kit program embodies the spirit of Thanksgiving by sharing blessings, building connections, and spreading the Gospel message to those in need. As the holiday season approaches, the organization remains dedicated to being a place of peace, hope, and love for all it serves. Please consider joining us in this effort.
