FCCT Hosts Summer Theater Camp

The week of June 12-16, Fayette County Community Theater hosted its annual workshop camp at the La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center for students in middle and high school.

Each day of camp, participants learned about lighting and sound, makeup and costumes, and fundamental acting skills. At the end of the week, the students had the opportunity to show off all the skills they picked up over the course of the camp in a showcase performance.

The showcase began with a “character walk,” where students came onstage one at a time to show off and talk about the characters or personas they created during camp.

Then, students acted out scenes, monologues and played songs for the audience.

Each act was either written by the students who performed it or drew inspiration from well-known pop culture.
