Fayetteville’s Annual ArtWalk This Weekend
Every year on the first weekend in May, Fayetteville’s historic town square explodes into life with fine art and live music at Arts for Rural Texas’ (ARTS) annual Art-Walk, a juried fine art festival. This year’s ArtWalk will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 5, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission to ArtWalk is free, and all are welcome to attend. ARTS invites visitors to delight in the charming beauty of Fayetteville as they peruse the booths of talented artists and artisans. The weekend promises wonderful art, delicious food, wine tastings, live music, and great fun.
“ArtWalk is an important event in the region. This event highlights the value that our rural communities place on art and its contribution to life. Art matters! Artists matter! Art-Walk celebrates that reality.” states Kevin White, ARTS’ Director of Development and event coordinator.
ArtWalk is a must-attend event for art lovers, offering a variety of styles and artforms for attendees to explore. Nearly 60 artists of all media, including paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, and more, showcase and sell their original works. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists to receive awards and prizes. Look for the People’s Choice Award posters around the event and simply scan the QR code to vote for your favorites.
Along with visual art, solo artists and duets will play live music throughout the weekend from the Fayetteville Courthouse Bandstand. Join ARTS on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. for a special free concert featuring Shaker Hymns, the Texas southern rock band from San Marcos. The full musical line up is as follows: Saturday, May 4:

• 3- 5 p.m.: SuperDave, David Hollas
• 6- 8 p.m.: Shaker Hymns
Sunday, May 5:
• 10 a.m.-12 p.m.: Jacob and Alice Zazz
• 1- 3 p.m.: Kelsi Machacek In addition to art and music, the event promises tasty culinary delights. Support Fayetteville’s local restaurants on the square, like Orsak’s Café, Joe’s Place, or the Wine Bar at the Grand Fayette Hotel. Grab a quick bite from one of the food trucks, like Southern Core Caramel Apples, or cool off with a snow cone from R&R Shaved Ice. Enjoy a delightful selection of wine from the Wine Booth or grab a beer or frozen margarita from The Mason Jar beverage truck from La Grange. Other food trucks on site include Simply Jane of Columbus, Taqueria La Abundancia of Brenham, and Fired Franks of Carmine.
ArtWalk also offers fun activities for children. Stop by the Children’s Tent for sand art, rock painting, face painting, Mother’s Day Cards, and other fun arts and crafts.
