Fayetteville Suffers Another Major Water Leak
FAYETTEVILLE News
A major water leak was discovered last Saturday afternoon. Water was shut down, the water line at S. Scott was repaired and water was restored within three hours. A huge shout out once again to Billy Wasut, David Malota, Mike Drab (Environmental and Aquatic Services) and Lee Chovonitz for repairing the leak in 105 degree heat. A boil water notice was in effect until water test results were returned.
The city also had a large leak earlier this summer.
City Council
The first Architectural Review Board Town Hall was well attended. The open meeting was held to discuss topics regarding possible architectural guidelines for the City of Fayetteville. Look for updates in the near future. The City budget meeting was held directly prior to the City Council Meeting. The budget is posted on the City website and placed on the community bulletin board outside the City offices.
It was announced at the last Council meeting that the City has paid off all existing General Fund debt. The search for a new accounting/bookkeeping firm and a Fayetteville EDC grant for the Community Center were approved.
