Fayetteville Students Shine at the District UIL Journalism Competition

Keagan Supak was named to the TABC All-State team in boys basketball and Kayme Schley was named to the TGCA All-State team in girls basketball.

FISD students also placed first place in UIL Journalism at District: Copy Editing: 2nd Johnathan English (advancing to Regionals); 4th - Reagan Moreau; 5th - Jeslyn Moralez.

Editorial Writing: 2nd Harper Mau (advancing to Regionals); 3rd - Kylie Morgensen (advancing to Regionals); 5th - Jessica Weishuhn.

Feature Writing: 1st Brooklyn Jaeger (advancing to Regionals); 2nd - Cooper Mau (advancing to Regionals); 3rd - Johnathan English (advancing to Regionals).

Headline Writing: 1st - Harper Mau (advancing to Regionals); 4th - Jessica Weishuhn; 5th - Jaden Mings.

News Writing: 2nd Brooklyn Jaeger (advancing to Regionals); 4th - Johnathan English; 5th - Kylie Morgensen.

Ready Writing: 2nd - Reagan Moreau (advancing to Regionals); 3rd - Kayme Schley (advancing to Regionals); 4th - Jeslyn Moralez.

Regionals will take place on April 21.

City Offices

City offices will be closed April 7 for Good Friday.

New Circle C

Hours at the new Circle C General Store will remain the same as before: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days per week. Holiday closings will be on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

Lions Club

“The Fayetteville Lions Club meets twice each month, and we welcome all guests to come join us for fellowship and fun, all in the name of promoting the great mission of Lions Club International,” stated President John Heimsath.

“We are so happy to be able to support our local community with this $1,000 donation to the Fayetteville Heritage Museum. It’s our way of thanking Debbie Pflughaupt and her 100% volunteer team that make the Fayetteville Heritage Museum one of the must-see places when visiting Fayetteville. Also, I’d like to remind all the students at Fayetteville High School to be sure to complete your scholarship applications on time, so we can support your continued success!”

Picking Park

A group of bluegrass enthusiasts are pickin’ again Saturday, April 8. All levels of pickers are welcome to continue the tradition of live, acoustic bluegrass jamming in the town square. Food Pantry

The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, April 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. This will no longer be a drive-thru food distribution. Clients will walk up to the entrance and are asked to bring bags or carts for pickup.

Easter Services

St. Paul Lutheran will hold Easter service at 10:30 a.m. followed by an Easter egg hunt. All are welcome.

For Easter, the Brethren Church will hold services in the following locations: April 7: Good Friday service at Nelsonville Brethren in Nelsonville at 6:30 a.m. Carrying of the cross will be followed by breakfast provided by the youth group. April 8: Fayetteville Brethren worship service will be held at 10 a.m. with Holy Communion April 8: Industry Brethren worship service will be held at 5 p.m. with Holy Communion April 9: Easter services will be held at Wesley Brethren at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren at 10:15 a.m.
