Fayetteville Returns to School Aug. 14

The FISD staff returned to school on Wednesday. An open house will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. The first day of class is on Monday, Aug. 14. Hours will be from 7:55 a.m. until 3:40 p.m. Go to their Facebook page for the fall sports (volleyball and cross country) schedule. VBS

St. John and St. Mary’s co-hosted a “Wilderness Adventure Through the Sacraments” during VBS held July 17-21. A group of 70 attendees from age three through those just completing fourth grade, learned about the seven sacraments and deepening their love for Jesus. Throughout the week, campers collected funds to support Fr. David Michael Moses’ Annual Concert for Life 2023. On Friday evening, campers, volunteers and parents joined in the summit of their week’s adventure with a Holy Mass.

Review Board

On Friday, Aug. 18, at 5:30 p.m., the City of Fayetteville will hold a town hall meeting to discuss details of an architectural review board. The agenda is on the website: https://www.fayetteville.texas. gov/

Food Pantry

The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John’s on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. This will no longer be a drive-thru food distribution. Clients will walk up to the entrance and are asked to bring bags or carts for pickup.

Golf Tourney

The First Annual Golf Tournament held by the Fayetteville Baseball Alumni Association will take place this Saturday. Four-person scramble. Tee time is 8:30 a.m. $500 per team. Contact Joe Simpson for more information: (979) 966.8985.
