In this monthly series, local realtor Andrea Schutter Riebeling does a Q & A with local business leaders about what inspires them. This month’s interview is with Fayetteville-native Lane Fritsch.

1.) What is your business?

My business is Sky Crafted Imaging, a real estate media production company that specializes in photography and videography for properties listed on the real estate market.

2.) How did you get started?

In November of 2023, I was looking on the internet at different properties on the market and noticed that the quality of the photos and videos showcasing each listing wasn’t very good ... and didn’t give a real understanding of the entire property and whether it would be a place a potential buyer would want to live. I have always had an interest and hobby in taking photos and creating videos. I saw this as an opportunity to bring my skills to the real estate market to help agents better showcase their properties.

From a study I saw, it stated that 68% of homes purchased are based on the photos/videos seen of the properties online.

After graduating from A&M in December of 2023 and taking what I gathered from all of my research, I began marketing to gain clients.

3.) How long have you been in business?

I have been in business since the beginning of January 2024 and have only been in operation for the past three months.

4.) Is this a family or individual business?

It is owned by me. I currently have one photo editor, one video editor, and am looking to hire more photographers/videographers in the near future.

5.) What kind of service do you provide?

We provide various services to showcase a property. We offer drone photos, interior photos, property identification, Matterport tours, floor plans, virtual staging, and virtual twilight photos. Additionally, we work with construction properties to timelapse the build of a project with photos and videos. We also create advertising videos for companies.

6.) Tell me something unique about your business?

Sky Crafted Imaging’s process of ordering media for a property to deliver the media is seamless and convenient for all agents. When working with us, each agent has their own account in our portal where all media for each property we handle is stored. Each property has its own website, as well as marketing content created from the media we capture.

This is unique to our business compared to other Real Estate Media companies because it is included when working with us and becoming one of our clients.

7.) What is your background? I grew up in Fayetteville. My family owns a stocker cattle operation called Fritsch Cattle Company. I spent much of my childhood on a horse, riding with the doctoring crews and processing cattle. After graduating from high school, I spent a year at Blinn in Brenham and then transferred to A&M. While in school, I started an Amazon FBA business and ran it on the side for some time. I also co-founded a Shuttle Bus Company called “Bevy” with one of my roommates, providing transportation services for large groups. We recently sold the company.

Last May, a friend and I decided to invest in another venture and bought a Kooler Ice Machine, which we placed at the Aggieland Outfitters next to Kyle Field in College Station. After graduating, I decided to move on to my next business venture, and that is when Sky Crafted Imaging began.

8.) What do you suggest to others who want to venture out and take a leap of action in the future of their career? My suggestion for people wanting to venture out into a iuture business and try something new is to run the numbers and see if it makes sense. I would also say do something that you’re interested in and passionate about.

In order to be frilly committed when creating a company, you have to have a passion for it, or you will just be stagnant and won’t have the ability to grow the company.

9.) Do you believe in college, trade school, or any training? When it comes to college, I have mixed opinions. College does have its purpose and benefits if you specifically want to go into a field of work that requires a degree. If you’re still in high school and have no idea what you want to do, going to college may not be the right option because there is a chance the degree you choose and graduate with may never be utilized. I am a prime example of that. I got my Bachelors in Animal Science and a Minor in Business. Truthfully, for me personally, I could be doing what I’m doing now without attending college, but I believe everything happens for a reason and I may not be doing what I am doing now if I had not gone to college.

10.) How did you decide to make College Station your home? I currently live in College Station. My company services all of Central Texas, so I am driving to different locations across Texas every day to capture properties.
