Despite numerous attempts by Mother Nature, Fayetteville hasn’t floated away. Mayor Mike Stroup and City Councilmen Kelly Brooks and Cade Burks were sworn in for their new terms in the City Council meeting on Monday. Kelly Brooks has replaced Emil Knodell, formerly in Place 4.

School Ends

Let the summer begin for FISD students and staff. The last day for FISD students was on Wednesday. Graduation will be held Friday at 7 p.m. The calendar for 2023-2024 can be found on the school website: https://www.fayettevilleisd. net.

Piano Concert

At ARTS, two of Baylor University’s finest piano performance majors, Miles Gillette and Christie Pollard, will entertain and inspire you. A wine service/reception begins at 6:30. Reservations are required as space is very limited. Free will donation. Visit artsforruraltexas.org.

Shrimp Boil

The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus Shrimp Boil is at St John’s Pavilion on Friday night. Complimentary keg beer from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Food will be served at 7:30 p.m. Music goes on all night. For tickets, call (979) 966-7961.

Food Truck

The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 this Saturday from 10 a.m. til 11 a.m. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as the clients walk-thru the line making their selections. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy, reusable bags and boxes. Wagons will be furnished.
