Fayetteville Jumps Into 2024
In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan 15, the City Council meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. in the City meeting room.
FISD
The kiddos are back in school this week. Just a reminder, FISD is always looking for bus drivers and substitute teachers.
Performance
First Presbyterian Church of La Grange welcomed Miles Gillette from Fayetteville on the piano and Jose Estrada on the trumpet in an open rehearsal on Dec. 30. Gillette, a senior piano performance major at Baylor, will be seeking his masters in piano performance next fall. The rehearsal allowed the young men to hone their performance skills as they are in the process of applying to music schools.
Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. This will no longer be a drive-thru food distribution. Clients will walk up to the entrance and are asked to bring bags or carts for pickup.
Concert
All are welcome to an Eleventh Night Concert this Sunday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran on N. Rusk presented by the Shared Lutheran Ministry. Music will be provided by congregations of the Colorado River Conference. Light refreshments will be provided. The offering will support the Turtle Wing Foundation. This is the last chance to listen to lovely Advent and Christmas music by several surrounding Lutheran church musicians.
Church Services
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9-9:45 a.m.
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
