Fayetteville ISD Highlights Security Details
Fayetteville
A letter was recently sent to Fayetteville ISD students and parents from Dr. Harvey outlining numerous facility enhancements and security measures in preparation for the new school year. A few of the items regarding security include:
• Over the last six years, the Board of Trustees has authorized safety upgrades across the campus at a cost of over a hundred thousand dollars.
• Security cameras have been a large part of the expenditures, electronic locks, training and DialCare mental health services for their students aged 10 years and older have also been essential.
• The “Guardian Program” has become the model for other districts across the state in designing their campus carry programs.
•All visitors will be directed to the campus to check in at the front office between the Red Building and elementaiy building.
• All campus visitors will be expected to park in the front parking lot adjacent to the old gym and elementary building during regular school hours.
• All visitors will be expected to present their driver’s license upon arrival and wear a lanyard and name badge indicting they are a guest
• Parents will continue to drop off lunch for their student(s) at the front reception area.
The annual Fayetteville Schools All Class Reunion will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17 following the rededication and tour of the Red Building at FISD at 3 p.m. It all starts at 4 p.m. at Joe’s Place. Open bar. Socializing, a meeting, dinner and music by DJ Aaron follows from 6-10 p.m. The meal of chicken fried steak, grilled chicken breast, potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert is only $12 per person with payment in advance only.
It must be received by Sept. 9.

City Council
The City Council meeting scheduled for last Monday has been rescheduled for Monday, Aug. 22.

Fall Ball

Reminder: The Central Texas Food Tmck will be at the parking lot of the Waldeck Lutheran Church this Saturday from 10-11 a.m. It’s drive-thm distribution and will follow all CDC guidelines.
