Fayetteville to Host Veteran’s Day Parade

In honor of all who served, the Annual Veteran’s Day Parade will be held on Veterans Day. Former Marine Dr. Jeff Harvey and Mr. Ray Brothers, FISD Technology Director and Air Force retiree, will lead veterans from the town square to the school. All veterans meet at the square at 8 a.m. Enthusiastic supporters can cheer them on.
City of Fayetteville
The City offices and the post office will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, Nov 11.
The City is in the process of paving Fayette St., W Main St. and Kubena Ridge in the Westview subdivision. Tx-DOT will be picking up the signs around town referencing road work since construction on Hwy. 159 won’t begin until next year.
Reserved parking in the City of Fayetteville is not allowed. This includes parking spaces in the square.
Turkey or Beef Stew
St. Paul Lutheran is holding their 44th Annual Turkey or Beef Stew & Bake Sale this Saturday at the old fire station on the square beginning at 10:30. Bring your own pot or pick up quart-size to-go containers. Proceeds will benefit their renovation project.
American Legion Breakfast The American Legion Post 602 in Shelby is serving a great breakfast and holding a raffle and auction this Saturday from 7:30-9 a.m. Look for lots of handmade military throw quilts, holiday gift baskets and more. A quilt raffle will follow the auction. Address is 4019 FM 1457 in Shelby. A free will donation is welcomed. Contact Ann Hentschel for more information at (979) 966-2190.
Farmer’s Market
The Fayetteville Farmer’s Market will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on the square. Hard-working vendors sell their goods at this event every second Saturday of the month.
Picking Park
A gifted group of bluegrass musicians will pick and sing at Picking Park on the square this Saturday. They get together the second Saturday of each month from January-November. The music flows from 2 p.m. until whenever.
Food Truck
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 10 - 11 a.m. Clients will walk up to the entrance and are asked to bring bags or carts for pickup.
Fayetteville EDC
The Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 13. All are all welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 7 pm. Lickskillet was a profitable event for the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.
Country Christmas
Country Christmas and the Lighted Parade is in the planning stages and will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14.

St. Paul
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
