ArtWalk

An artist known for depicting the local landscape and the ARTS board president offered insights on the highly successful ArtWalk held last weekend. Lee Ann Walker, president of the ARTS board commented on the success of the event by saying, “We upped our advertising budget and increased our marketing efforts this year. We also sent out postcards and our social media is getting a lot of traffic. Kevin White promoted the event on the radio and we ran a full page ad in The Record.

“The show featured every kind of medium and art and we had a lot of great, new artists, with a total of 61,” stated Walker. “Four great food trucks were here, like George’s and Frontier Coffee out of Columbus. Frontier Coffee set up a beautiful coffee bar for us. There was a waiting line at both Joe’s and Orsak’s so we’re glad no one went hungry. You couldn’t stir people with a stick on Saturday. And the weather was so nice.”

From outside his booth, artist and teacher Stephen Henry was working on a watercolor of the Red & White Gallery. He sold a beautiful painting at the show featuring the Fayetteville water tower. When asked what he enjoyed about ArtWalk, he stated, “I really enjoy meeting people. Sales are always nice but meeting other artists from all over is really special too.” Another painting sold depicted Bubba Fritsch on horseback. Discover more about Henry at cowcreekstudio.com.
