Fayetteville Class of 1967 Holds Reunion, Bike Ride Coming Up

A Shop Hop, hosted by Evan and Mary Quiros, John and Martha Dennis and Jerry and Bette Gips, was held last Saturday. It benefited the Fayetteville Community Center and Performance Theater.

The crawfish boil held by the Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus last Friday had a great turnout.

Bike Ride

The 25th Annual Fayetteville Good Old Summertime Classic Bicycle ride hosted by Fayetteville Cycling will roll through Fayetteville at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 5. On Saturday, June 4, an informal ride will take place on the town square followed by a reception at the Old Fire Station from 6 to 8 p.m.

“We are excited to add a gravel ride this year that’s 40 to 60 miles long. It’s in addition to our 10 to 50-mile ride on asphalt,” mentioned Bob McGowen. “Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. John’s pavilion for a barbeque lunch for only $10. You’ll see cyclists arriving after their finish and many other activities. The lunch is complimentary for volunteers and riders.

Our goal is to beat the amount we gave to FISD last year and we need your help. You can volunteer, donate, or buy raffle tickets at Joe’s place to win a beautiful bicycle.” All net proceeds from the ride are donated to the FISD Athletic Department and Education Foundation. The Bike MS: Texas MS 150 sanctioned training ride is open to cyclists of all levels and ages.
