Fayetteville City-Wide Garage Sale This Saturday

It’s time again for the City-Wide Garage Sale held by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce this Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. If there are spots left on the square, the cost is only $20. Electricity is free. Sellers must provide the extension cord. Canopies are allowed but stakes in the ground are prohibited. Contact the chamber if you wish to rent a space on the square at (979) 378-2800. Snag a free margarita and get a sneak preview of items for sale by the Fayetteville Lions Club in the old firehouse on the square. Their Early Bird Party runs from 4-6 p.m. on Friday and costs $20. New Chef 

There’s a new chef in town. The Wine Bar’s newest sous chef is George Rivers, a graduate from the Texas Culinary Academy, formerly known as Le Chef College of Hospitality. A native Houstonian, Rivers has been a Fayette County resident since the age of 10 and went to Fayetteville ISD. Rivers grew up working in his family restaurant, Café 237.

Little League 

La Grange Little League Intermediate team ball players Chase Havel and Ethan Keilers recently helped take the series two games to one and are the Texas East Section 1 Intermediate champions, and now one win away from the Texas East State title. Chase is the son of Colby and Ashley Havel and the grandson of Connie Havel. Ethan is the son of Kevin and Amanda Keilers, all of Fayetteville.

Church News 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
