New hours for our city offices: 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Hats were worn to school on Tuesday to show support for the Lady Lions as they open up the volleyball playoffs.

Veterans Day In honor of all who served, our Annual Veteran’s Day Parade is coming up on Friday, November 11. Former Marine Dr. Jeff Harvey and Mr. Ray Brothers, FISD Technology Director and Air Force retiree, will lead veterans from the town square to the school. All veterans meet at the square at 8:00 a.m. Enthusiastic supporters can cheer them on.

Holidays Fayetteville’s fourth annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest is almost here. Enjoy holiday treats while setting up your masterpiece on Friday, November 18. Food Pantry The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on November 9 from 10 to 11 a.m. Please make room inside your car trunks and truck beds. Food boxes will be prepackaged and placed in each vehicle by volunteers.

Big Trip Wayne and Grace Frugé, Ernest and Jane Frugé and Chick and Barbara Hohensee returned from a whirlwind nine-day trip of the East Coast recently. The bus tour took them from Round Top to Houston where they flew into Boston. The couples enjoyed four scenic train rides and three sails throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine.

They cruised through the Calendar Islands and at the summit of Mt. Washington, were greeted with six-degree weather. Highlights of the trip included a sighting of eight whales, a tour of the Norman Rockwell museum, Plymouth Rock and beautiful autumn views.

Kuskie Baby Sweet Isabelle Jo Kuskie was born on Sept. 22 at 8:20 p.m., weighing six pounds, nine ounces and measuring 19 and 3/4 inches long. Isabelle was welcomed home by big brother Kaleb. Proud parents are Kyle and Stacey (Kovar) Kuskie of Richmond. Isabelle’s grandparents are Erwin and Betty Jo Kovar of Fayetteville and Kendall and Mary Jo Kuskie of Denton. Her great-grandmothers are Ellen Vasek of Columbus and Darlene Kuskie of Grant, Nebraska.

Harvestfest Volunteers are needed on Friday to help set up tables, wall panels and decorate for Harvestfest. Please call Kevin White at ARTS if interested in helping from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall in Fayetteville. Lunch will be provided. Call (979) 378-2113.
