Fayetteville ISD is celebrating National FFA Week by asking students to dress in certain colors throughout the week. Fourth and fifth graders want to give a huge shout out to Mrs. Janish (Pre-K) and her husband for donating the delicious Blue Bell ice cream for the Valentine’s Day ice cream sundaes!

Election Update

Fayetteville will not hold an election in May. Mayor Mike Stroup and City Councilman Cade Burks in Place 2 are unopposed. There will be a new face in Place 4 on the City Council in May, Kelly Brooks. The current city councilman in that seat, Emil Knodell, is not seeking reelection.

ARTS Show

This Saturday afternoon ARTS is hosting a one-woman show presented by Houston actress Mary Margaret Mann about the courage and tenacity of Texas’ first women heroes. The show, entitled Blaze of Glory, is a vibrant performance that brings to life remarkable women whose lives reflect true courage and visionary thinking.

Mann is an accomplished actress, author and speaker, specializing in one-woman performances. Blaze of Glory will take place at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for the preevent wine service. Last Saturday, Don Swofford presented fascinating historical facts about our small town to a packed house at ARTS.

Piano Giveaway

Betty Donald is generously giving away a Steinway Piano Model B7 to a passionate lover of the instrument. The last tune up was around December.
