Fayette County Opry Will Feature Darrel Appelt, Kelly Hartsfield And Keith Hickle

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, May 16, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m Admission is $7.

This month the opry will be featuring Darrel Appelt, Kelly Hartsfiled, and Keith Hickle.

Darrel Appelt is a singer/ songwriter musician from Columbus who has been entertaining country music audiences since the early 1980’s. He has been a part of many successful acts and plays several instruments.

From dancehalls to honky tonks to festivals and county fairs, Darrel’s groups have opened shows for several Nashville stars. More recently in 2019, Darrel recorded his first all original full length album “Long Time Gone Time.”

In 2021 he released a second album “A Place To Go.” Darrel’s smooth easy to listen to country vocal style and simple unique approach to songwriting is finding a way on country play lists everywhere. His music has been downloaded nationwide as well as overseas and in Canada and server songs have received radio airplay and have been featured on country streaming stations in Texas and in California.

Kelly Hartsfield was born in Houston and now resides in the small town of Trinity. She has two beautiful adult daughters who also love to sing. This is her 21st year in public school education as a mathematics teacher. Kelly has been singing and playing piano in churches since she was 10-years-old. In recent years, she’s been singing across Texas and Oklahoma at many oprys, jamborees, restaurants, and churches.

Keith Hickle is a native to La Grange. He started singing later in life at 23 and has made a career from music ever since. He currently lives in New Braunfels with his new bride and travels Texas almost every weekend to perform live. He was the 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2018 Readers Digest best artist in Fayette County.
