Fayette County Community Theatre Presents “God of Carnage” Dinner Fundraiser Feb. 17
The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present a production of “God of Carnage” by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton on Feb. 17 at the Historic Casino Hall. Directed by Brandon Theut this dark comedy showcases how sometimes adults act like children.
The play starts with two sets of parents coming together to deal with an altercation between their children on the playground. Veronica and Michael host the conversation. Staci Ulrich plays Veronica and says the character is “a little uptight, but right on the edge of coming undone. [She] means well, but her frustration gets the best of her when things aren’t going as she planned.” Her husband Judd Ulrich portrays her character’s husband Michael who does not like confrontation. The other couple, Annette and Alan, are all about confrontation with each other and everyone else. Annette is played by Emily Hudson. “Annette is polite, but phony, fake, and maternal,” states Hudson. Thuet also plays Alan who casually calls his wife “woofwoof” and describes his son as a “savage.”
FCCT is sending “God of Carnage” to the Theatre Network of Texas Conference TEXFest 2024 hosted in Victoria, in late February. In order to help cover the cost of travel, lodging and registration fees, this one act play will be presented with a special dinner and theater fundraiser Feb. 17 at the Historic Casino Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to begin at 6 p.m. and show at 7 p.m. Guests will be treated to a special question and answer discussion after the show.
Tickets are available online at www.faycotheatre.com or at the Box Office, located at 120 South Washington, just off the square in La Grange, Texas. Box Office is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables of six are available to reserve.
