Numerous Fayette County 4-Hers competed in the 2024 Texas 4-H Roundup at Texas A &M University in College Station on June 4-6.

Texas 4-H Roundup is the pinnacle event for all of Texas 4-H, with senior 4-H members competing in approximately 50 diverse competitions throughout the weeklong event. The majority of the events require each individual or team to qualify at the county and district level.

Cooper Mau and Cash Smith each received a $20,000 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship. Railey Nieto received a Texas 4-H Foundation Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 and Kaylee Hensley received a San Antonio Stock Show School Tours Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. All scholarships were awarded through the Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship Program.

Harper Mau was elected as a Texas 4-H Council At Large Delegate. Cooper Mau retired his green jacket as a 2023-2024 Texas 4-H Council Health and Safety Officer.

Harper Mau, Rheagan Karisch, Cassidy Laake, and Logan Poncik competed in the Qualifying Livestock Judging Contest and placed 16th overall.

Madyson Holub, Haley Schramek, and Kyrroll Prihoda competed in the Invitational Livestock Judging Contest and were the Reserve Champion Team.

Rheagan Karisch and Tori Newton competed in the Beef Educational Presentation.

Tori Newton competed in the Healthy Dessert Category in the Food Show and placed 6th overall.
