Farmers Market Starting in Fayetteville This Saturday
Sydni Alberthal is heading up something pretty special coming to our town this Saturday on the square. Originally from La Grange, her husband Josh and their two boys Kash and Weston now live in Fayetteville. “I used to sell my baked goods at the Jersey Barnyard and I was checking in with the mayor and Sandee on the idea of a farmers market here. I was thinking that there’s so much talent here— people bake bread, have vegetable gardens and make jams and other foods. And I bake and sell sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls,” stated Alberthal.
“We’re going to try it out this Saturday, May 11 on the courthouse lawn from 9 a.m. until noon. Right now, it’s one weekend per month. We’re excited to get the word out. It’s first come, first served for the spaces. Just set up your table and prop up a chair. It’s really simple and very laid back. Rice and Paula Lummis of Cardinals’ Ground will be bringing out lots of vegetables and look for other local vendors too.” Sydni may be contacted by text: (979) 250-3353. ArtWalk
Kristin McKeown of
ex-KMcK Creative Arts was excited to be a part of ArtWalk this year. “This is my first year at ArtWalk. What I really appreciate about it is getting to know all the veteran artists and getting to ask a lot of questions because I’m new to the art world,” stated Mc-Keown. “I mostly do acrylics and stained glass style paintings reminiscent of Tiffany. This is my first show to sell a large painting. I sold four originals so it was very exciting. I like doing small town shows and I heard Fayetteville had a great art community. I’m very happy to be here.” Check out Kristin’s Instagram page: @ kmck_creative_arts.
