Fall Roundup in Muldoon
Church News
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is in full swing this Fall with a Turkey/Clay Shoot coming up on Saturday Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. The shoot will be held at the Swenson Ranch, so everyone is encouraged to break out that old shotgun and buy that ammo to come out and participate. It will be lots of fun and there will be great prizes involved. If you have any questions or want to participate contact Monty at (512) 575-0534. It will be a good time and there will be food there too. Make plans to come check it out.
Also on the fall agenda for SG2C is the Fall Roundup. Fun is being planned for everyone. There will be lots of games, including a roping game, a dessert walk for all kinds of homemade goodies and lots more. There will be pony rides for the kids and this is a great chance to check out the SG2C while you are having fun. There is a heifer raffle for a fine young heifer. Chances are available now from SG2C members. If you would like more information please contact Chris Levition at (979) 702-0715, she is in charge of the organization of this great event. The Fall Roundup and Heifer Raffle are the major fundraisers for the activities for the church.
If you are interested in finding out more about this fast growing Gospel based church drop by on any Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts along with some fellowship prior to the morning worship service at 10 a.m.
Also happening at SG2C on Wednesday nights the youth ages 13-18 years old are meeting for ROPE. This group has loads of fun learning all about the Bible and God’s plan for their lives. Any area youth who would like to find out more can come at 6 p.m. for a meal and stay for all the lessons and games that follow.
Out and About
On a recent Sunday Ron and Pam Knotts were glad to welcome Pam’s brother, Ray Langenberg to join them for the church service at Flatonia Baptist. He has visited before but was interested in the addition of the deaf ministry to the service. Ray had driven in from Austin with his wife Christy who met them for lunch at Robert’s. The pork chops are Ray’s favorite and he rates the ones at Robert’s more flavorful than expensive restaurants in Austin. There was lots of family news to catch up on and several vacation stories. After lunch Ray and Christy headed to San Antonio to ride some bike trails with friends. Always a treat to spend time with family.
Devon Boehnke, Dana and Darrell Kulak and Erica Field enjoyed having Devon’s granddaughter Jenny Zuhn along with husband Aaron and their daughters Charlotte and Delilah come in for a visit over the weekend.
