Faldyn Trying One Last Push to Sell Lukas Bakery
Lukas Bakery has been around since 1947. Next month owner Larry Faldyn, above at the counter, who is 73 years old, will have worked there 52 years. It’s been almost five years since his late wife Carol, daughter of the bakery founders, passed away. Larry’s ready to enjoy retirement (he gets to the bakery at midnight most nights to start making the next day’s fresh array of kolaches, pigin- the-blankets, cookies, etc) but doesn’t want the bakery to retire with him. For the past three years he’s had the bakery for sale with no serious offers, and lately he’s really renewing the push to get it sold. He thinks that if he isn’t able to sell it this year he will have to close it for good. He’s willing to stay and train a new owner for at least six months. The building, the equipment and all the recipes are for sale for Faldyn’s asking price of $375,000. Contact Larry at (979) 968-3052 or (979) 250-7046 if interested.
