Fake Bills Circulating Locally Police Chief Says

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath warns local merchants to watch for fake currency that’s been circulating around town.
Gilbreath said officers took several calls from local businesses that were paid in fake $20 and $100 bills. Those businesses didn’t discover the fake money until they tried depositing it at the bank. These bills look like real money at first glance. But they are obviously fake upon closer inspection. They feature the words “Motion Picture Use” and “Motion Picture Copy Money” printed prominently on the bills.
Gilbreath said anyone can purchase these fake bills online. They are intended to be used as props in the film industry. Gilbreath said the businesses that took the fake bills have not been able to identify who passed them.
